On Thursday, January 8, 2026, community leaders, project partners, residents, and regional guests gathered in Lindsay, Nebraska, to celebrate the official ribbon cutting of the Lindsay Event Center. The event marked the completion of a multi-phase community facility project led by Lindsay Area Development (LAD)—a long-term effort designed to strengthen community life, support regional growth, and create flexible spaces for a wide range of uses.
A Connected Campus Designed for Shared Community Use
The Lindsay Event Center represents the final piece of a thoughtfully planned campus that brings together wellness, education, recreation, and events under a shared-use model. The first phase of the project was completed in September 2025 and included the Bank of Lindsay Wellness Center, FCA Lindsay Fitness Center, and the Lindsay Public Library; each intentionally designed to serve multiple user groups through collaboration and flexible scheduling.
A parallel project, completed in December 2024, was the construction of Lindsay Academy Jr./Sr. High School, which sits adjacent to the Event and Wellness Center. Together, these facilities create a connected environment that supports students, residents, organizations, and visitors from Lindsay and the surrounding region.
“For many years, our community talked about the need for better facilities, but pursuing separate projects simply wasn’t realistic,” said Aaron Reichmuth, Director and founding member of Lindsay Area Development. “What made this possible was designing one flexible campus that could serve many purposes and forming strong partnerships around shared use. This facility is the result of that collaboration and long-term planning.”
A Versatile Event Venue for Lindsay and the Region
The Lindsay Event Center is a multifunction, open-concept venue built to accommodate a wide variety of events, including:
Weddings and receptions
Community celebrations and fundraisers
Corporate meetings and conferences
Trade shows and expos
Concerts, recitals, and live performances
The venue features a theatrical stage with professional lighting and sound, a catering kitchen, a bar area with flexible service options, and a multipurpose room that can function as a private bridal suite, meeting room, or performer prep space. With adaptable floor plans, the Event Center easily transitions between elegant receptions, presentations, ceremonies, and entertainment-focused events.
Supporting Athletics, Tournaments, and Large-Scale Events
In addition to hosting social and business events, the Lindsay Event Center is designed to support athletic programming and regional tournaments. The space converts into one regulation basketball court or two regulation volleyball courts, complete with mobile bleachers and portable scoreboards.
When combined with the Bank of Lindsay Wellness Center, the campus offers additional courts, rooms, and flexible spaces—allowing Lindsay to host large-scale tournaments and multi-court competitions that attract teams, families, and visitors from across the region.
“Our vision was simple: to bring people together,” said Amber Klassen, President of Lindsay Area Development. “We’re already seeing families, organizations, and neighboring communities choosing Lindsay for events and tournaments. That activity supports local businesses, encourages housing growth, and strengthens the community as a whole.”
Meeting Community Needs and Supporting Regional Growth
Before this project, Lindsay lacked the indoor space needed to host larger events, wellness programs, and athletic competitions in one centralized location. The completed facility now fills that gap—supporting healthy lifestyles, community connection, and economic development, while positioning Lindsay as a regional destination for events and recreation.
The ribbon cutting celebration included remarks from Lindsay Area Development board members, self-guided tours of the campus, and opportunities for attendees to see how the Event Center connects seamlessly with the Wellness Center and Lindsay Academy.
A Long-Term Investment in Lindsay’s Future
With construction now complete, the Lindsay Event Center stands as the final component of a coordinated, community-centered facility designed to meet current needs while allowing for future growth. The campus reflects what can be accomplished through collaboration, shared vision, and a commitment to serving both Lindsay residents and the surrounding region.
