Basketball League Day Updates – Sunday, February 1

Please review the following important updates for this Sunday’s Basketball League games. We encourage teams and families to read through the full post before arriving.

Stage Area and Back Stairwell – Off Limits
Due to recent damage to the stage, curtains, and ping pong table, we’re making a few changes to help keep our facility safe and enjoyable for everyone. The ping pong table will no longer be available between games, and access to the stage and back stairs (emergency exits only) will be locked. There will be no re-entry through these exits—anyone using them will need to walk around the building and re-enter through Door #2. Thank you for helping us take care of our space.

Meal Options & Concessions
A variety of meal options will be available for purchase. Attendees may pre-order meals for quick pickup to take home, or purchase items to eat in the Academy Commons or to-go.

• Tornados (Southwest Chicken, Beef & Cheese, or Pepperoni) – $3 each

• Sunday Community Special: $10 burger and fries at Tavern 1888 (opens at noon).
• Fundraiser: Support the Lindsay Academy Robotics team by purchasing their “Take and Bake” fundraiser items to help with travel and competition costs.
• Worship Opportunity: Families are welcome to join Mass at Lindsay Holy Family Catholic Church at 8:00 AM on Sunday. Locker room access is available if families need to change before games.

• Last Chance for Basketball: Registration for the Youth Basketball Tournament (Grades 3–8) closes February 14. The tournament is scheduled for February 21.
• Summer Preview: Keep an eye out for upcoming schedules for Summer Basketball, Volleyball, and Co-ed Sand Volleyball.
• Sponsorships: Businesses can sponsor teams or leagues—contact Jenny Korth for details.
• Public Library News Donations Needed: Seeking LEGOs, board games (even incomplete), and crochet supplies (yarn/hooks). Valentine’s Crafting: Free handmade valentine supplies are available every day the library is open throughout February.
• Wellness & Fitness: New Classes: Expanded group fitness lineup coming soon.
• Sunday Lunch: Skip the cooking this Sunday (Feb 1) during the youth basketball league! Cheeseburgers and Chicken Enchilada Calzone are on the menu.
• Hiring: Looking for group fitness instructors and "Event Crew" for setup/teardown/cleaning. Email reservations@lindsayareadevelopment.com for more info.

Cold Weather Entrance Update

Due to expected extreme cold temperatures, admissions will be available at two entrances to help reduce time outdoors:

• Door #5 – Lindsay Event Center Entrance

• Door #2 – Bank of Lindsay Wellness Center Entrance

Please use either entrance to get inside quickly and stay warm.

Meal Options & Concessions

New sign installed at the Lindsay Event Center in partnership with Lindsay Corporation!

We now have new signage up on the front of the Lindsay Event Center! The exterior now proudly features the branding and logo of Lindsay™ (Lindsay Corporation), our facility’s naming rights partner.

We are deeply grateful for Lindsay Corporation’s investment in our community and in the people who live, work, and raise their families in Lindsay and our surrounding communities. This support goes far beyond a building. It represents a belief in rural communities and their ability to grow, thrive, and sustain themselves for generations to come.

The Lindsay Event Center, along with the Bank of Lindsay Wellness Center, serves as a place for connection, athletics, wellness, celebration, and community life. Partnerships like this help strengthen rural communities and support opportunities for the next generation.

The FCA Lindsay Fitness Center will remain accessible 24/7, just as normal, throughout the holiday season. Below are a few important holiday updates to be aware of across our facilities.

Fitness Center
• 24/7 access remains unchanged
• Holiday Help Desk hours: 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM:
• Monday: Dec 22nd & Dec 29th
• Tuesday: Dec 23rd & Dec 30th

HIIT Fit Group Classes
• NO HIIT Classes on the following dates: 12/23, 12/25 and 12/31.
• HIIT class on December 30th at 5:30pm

Library Hours
• Holiday hours are as follows: Closed 12/22, 12/24, and 12/31.
• Library will be open on Monday December 29th from 9-11:30am

Guest Pass Reminder
If you have guests staying with you over the holidays and would like them to join you at the Fitness Center, guest passes are available for purchase here.
Please remember that guests must attend with a member to be able to access the facility.

Big day behind the scenes at the Lindsay Event Center 😁

Our staff was in full training mode today, getting hands-on with all the incredible new technology throughout the facility. From theatrical lighting and lighting controls to the PA system and full audio/visual setup, we’re learning how to make every event run smoothly and look amazing.

All of this technology opens the door to so many possibilities. We can elevate athletic events, enhance concerts and performances, improve presentations and ceremonies, and create high-quality experiences for everyone who walks through our doors. From game-day excitement to community events and everything in between, the Lindsay Event Center is ready to shine.

Thank you to Sampson Construction for organizing and recording today’s training.

Holiday and Facility Updates

• Newsletter Pause: The weekly newsletter will pause until the beginning of the New Year for the holiday season.

• Ribbon Cutting Event: The official Ribbon Cutting and tour for the Lindsay Event Center is scheduled for Thursday, January 8, at 10:00 AM at Door #5 Entrance. Grace's Coffee will be available for purchase.
